Opsoclonus-Myoclonus Syndrome (OMS)

Opsoclonus myoclonus is a rare neurological disorder characterized by the following symptoms:

  • an unsteady walk
  • muscle spasms
  • irregular, rapid eye movements
  • difficulty speaking, poorly articulated speech, or an inability to speak
  • decrease in muscle tone
  • lethargy, irritability, and discomfort

Opsoclonus myoclonus may occur in association with tumors or viral infections. It is often seen in children with tumors. Vaccines are linked to Opsoclonus-Myoclonus Syndrome.
